When you are at the Micam Shoe Fair in Milan you really cannot miss it. I am talking about the Japanese Pavilion, a beautiful open-space full of ideas, news and good friends! This year I saw a show of a skilled Japanese leather-shoe craftsman who carried out a live handsewing demonstration titled “Japan Production” in the Japan pavilion’s demonstration area. Above all else, the techniques of such shoe artisans—which are second to none worldwide—revolve around consideration for the customer who will actually wear the shoes, and the utmost care is taken to cater to each user’s needs. The application of subtle delicacy rooted in the important Japanese cultural concept of omotenashi, meaning kind consideration toward customers and guests, is surely enable you to experience new possibilities in shoemaking.
At the shoe fair in Milan I met these companies:
– IO CO. Ltd: http://www.io522.com/ This is a company and Ahhi Choi is the designer of the collection. Simply an artist and “when people ask the artist, “What does this work mean?” or “What is this an image of?” Choi responds that it is an inscription of the mental state he was experiencing when he created the work, the intrinsic meaning more or less forming during the physical production or afterwards. However, due to the art being created according to Choi’s guttural sense and emotions, the audience should come to appreciate the paintings and drawings likewise, without limiting the work with confining titles and words”. http://www.ahhichoi.com/
-Benebis: comfort shoes
-Spingle Company: http://spingle.jp/
-U-DOT: http://www.u-dot.jp A very sophisticated and beautiful collection of flat shoes and cool bags made by the designer Takumi Inomata.
– This is the brand of the interchangeable shoes by Johnny and Jessy. Jay Jay Japan Company Inc. http://www.johnnyjessy.com/ http://www.johnnyjessy.com/indentity.html
Beautiful shoes on the horizon! These Valentino leather pumps are sooo trendy that I can’t wait to try them. Lot of style, chunky heels, strong soles, fringes, pure leather: a very good example of high design for connoisseurs, fashionistas and shoes experts. Strong enough if you play with the length of your skirt, hot with your leather leggings, easy with your suit.. need them!!!
